The text is a collection of short stories originally posted online. They take place in the United States, but the deep woods setting is familiar to me having grown up in Ontario.
I formatted the text into several signatures to be printed on normal A4 paper and sewed them together. The hardcover is made from cardboard and brown paper.
The cover is my own design, drawn digitally. I noticed the LaserJet ink was delicate enough that I could burnish some of it away to create a texture.
I wanted the final product to remind the viewer of a forest ranger's field journal while still looking like a fiction book.
Unfortunately there are no work-in-progress photos. I followed Sea Lemon's video tutorials on Youtube.
